GEORGE DANIS,

Mr. George F. Danis passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at the Kirkland & District Hospital. George was born in St. Charles, ON. on April 30, 1920. George and Kathleen married and raised their children and some foster children. He was a miner in the Kirkland Lake area for 45 years. He loved his family, helping people and teaching his children to hunt, fish and anything that needed fixing. So it is with deep regret that the family of George’s say that he has taken the next step of his journey to be with his parents Melvina Deforge Danis and Pierre Danis; wife (60 years) Kathleen Collier Danis; daughter Georgina Danis; granddaughter Veronica Danis; brother Pete Downey; sisters Lucy Hosken, Mary Dumouchel / Gray, Laurette Paquette / Graham, Dorina Charron, Pauline St. Jean, Lillian Villeneuve, Florence Mayhew / Beard. He leaves behind his children Kathleen Semroz, George (Val) Danis, Ron (Denise) Danis, Diane Danis, Donald (Rosemarie) Danis and Richard (Carmen) Danis; grandchildren Dierdrea (Mark) Swinden, Kari Ann (Jean Louis) Asselin, Laura (Collin) Genier, Pierre (Christine) Danis, Daniel (Christine) Danis, Justyne (Stephen) Hannet, Tammy (Nick) Weiss, Ronald (Lynne) Danis, Stacy Patronalla, Shana Danis, Sara (Mike) Duqett, Michael Danis and Tiffany Danis; great grandchildren Travis, Yvette, Natylia, Kaylene, Joshua, Riley, Ryan, Matthew, Ava, Skyla, Jamie, Dustin, April, Scottie, Luke, Tori, Lisette, Zowie, Gauge, Preston, Brooklyn and Madison and great great grandchildren Jonathan and Pacey. Visitation will be held at Monette & French Funeral Home on Sunday, October 19, 2008 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Name of Jesus Parish on Monday, October 20, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Wayne Mills officiating. George will be laid to rest in the Kirkland Lake Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the Diabetes Association (1400-522 University Ave. Toronto, ON. M5G 2R5), Heart & Stroke Foundation (P.O.
