1919 - 2010

Frank Douglas Kemp, C.A., of New Liskeard, died Sunday, September 19, 2010 at the Temiskaming Hospital after a brief illness. Born in New Liskeard on July 2, 1919 to Lester Kemp and Emily Hoggarth, he attended New Liskeard High School, and then went on to pass the chartered accounting exams in 1946. Mr. Kemp married Elsie Golby in Toronto on August 10, 1946. He was a chartered accountant and worked in Toronto, Kirkland Lake and New Liskeard, and was a founding partner of Kemp, Elliott & Blair LLP. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed curling, cross-country skiing, his cottage at Twin Lakes, the arts, classical music, opera and painting. He was also a patron of the arts. Mr. Kemp was a member of the St. John's Anglican Church in New Liskeard. He was predeceased by his wife Elsie in December, 2006 in New Liskeard, his daughter Mary and his son Ronald. Mr. Kemp is survived by his children: Lori (Herb) of Sudbury, George (Victoria) of New Liskeard, and Donald (Vlasta) of Oakville; and grandchildren Darren, Mark, Adam, Melissa, Karla, Jordan, Donald and Christopher; and great-grandson Connor. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Perrin Funeral Chapel Ltd. Visitation was held Wednesday, September 22 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Perrin Funeral Chapel. The memorial service took place in the Chapel at 3 p.m. and was conducted by Reverend Linda White. Interment followed at the New Liskeard Cemetery.
