Passed away at the Kingston General Hospital on July 30, 2008. She was born in Haileybury to the late John and Lily Mae McPhee. Predeceased by her loving husband Douglas in 2000. She was a loving and dedicated mother to John (Andrea) of Smithfield, Christine, Cindy (Gerry) of Ottawa and Peter of Trenton. Also left to mourn are 5 grandchildren; Alexander, Johnson and Keegan Rae of Smithfield and Justine and Joel Lachapelle of Ottawa. Evelyn also leaves behind her beloved pets Tux and Minnie. She will be greatly missed by her brothers Bruce (Bunny), Donald (Ruby) and Courtney and families. Evelyn was predeceased by her sisters Marie Robar, Verena Ruddy, Pearl Long and Ruby Combs; brothers John, Gordon and Malcolm. Family will receive relatives and friends at the MONETTE & FRENCH FUNERAL HOME (450 Government Road West, Kirkland Lake, ON., P2N 3L1) Saturday, August 2, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. until funeral service at 10:00 a.m. in the “Teck-Hughes” Chapel with The Rev. David Naylor officiating. Internment of ashes will follow the funeral service at the Kirkland Lake Cemetery. Contributions in Evelyn’s memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation (P.O. Box 1122, Kirkland Lake, On., P2N 3M7); Canadian Cancer Society (38 Government Road West, Kirkland Lake, On., P2N 2E2); Humane Society (The Atrium on Bay, 40 Dundas Street West, Suite 227B, Box 16, Toronto, On., M5G 2C2) or charity of your choice.Offer Condolence for the family of Evelyn Rae
