FORGET, Ernest Joseph

1933 - 2011

On October 29, 2011, Ernest Forget of Earlton died suddenly at the Sudbury Regional Hospital, following aneurysm surgery. He was born in Hilliard Township on February 24, 1933, to Lorenzo and Cecilia (Ethier) Forget. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Rosaline (Miron) and his children Suzanne (Chris) Borgford of Earlton, Richard (Victoria) of Earlton, Robert (Joelle) of North Cobalt, Normand (Cindy) of Lanark, Louise (Rejean) Alarie of Sudbury, 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is also sadly missed by his siblings Leo (Nancy) of New Liskeard, Yvonne (Earl) Bandy of New Liskeard, Roger (Gloria) of Bracebridge, Rolly (Lois) of New Liskeard, Pauline (John) Proulx of Welland, Paul (Denise) of Earlton and by his sister-in-law Yvette Forget of New Liskeard. Mr. Forget will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Raymond and sister Jeannine Miron. At Mr. Forget’s request, his eyes were donated to the Eye Bank and his body was donated to science. Mr. Forget had been a longtime resident of Earlton. He attended public school at 1A Hilliard. As a young man, he worked at the airport runways in Timmins and Earlton. For many years he was employed at Dionne Concrete and Henro Cabinets. After retirement he enjoyed doing odd jobs for individuals. Mr. Forget’s hobbies were his workshop, gardening, his cottage (when his children were growing up), and travelling country roads on Sunday drives. He enjoyed tending bar at wedding receptions, calling for square dances and playing the mouthorgan. The funeral was arranged by McDonald Funeral Home in Englehart. The funeral mass was held at St. Jean Baptiste Church in Earlton on November 2, Father Germain Turcotte officiating. Pallbearers were his sons Bob, Rick and Norman Forget, grandsons Kevin Forget, Francois Alarie and André Forget.
