God called another angel home. It is with extremely heavy hearts, the family of Elsie Smith announces her passing at the Teck-Pioneer Residence on May 26, 2017 at the age of 91 years. Elsie was predeceased by her loving husband Douglas and her loving son Bruce. Elsie is survived by her devoted grandson Kyle and her daughter-in-law April Emms. Elsie was battling dementia for about 2 years. She worked as a secretary in Swastika until she had Bruce, then she was a full time mom. Elsie and Doug had a fulfilling marriage of 65 years. As Bruce worked out of town, Elsie and Doug took on the role of primary caregiver to Kyle, which gave them tremendous joy. Elsie also belonged to the Eastern Star (Masonic Hall) as well as a long time member of the United Church. During her spare time, Elsie enjoyed joining Doug and her friends at Tim Horton’s every night, like clockwork. She also loved cooking, baking and taking care of her family. We would like to thank everyone who made Elsie’s stay at Teck-Pioneer Residence comfortable and enjoyable; especially the nurses and doctors who were with her constantly.Well, Elsie you’re with your husband Doug and your Son Bruce, you’re all together now.
