WHITE, Elizabeth
Elizabeth Ann White Passed away peacefully in her 97th year at Temiskaming Lodge on April 23rd, 2012. "Betty", the beloved wife of Carlton Miller White (predeceased 1979). Cherished Mother of Susan and David White (predeceased 2011). Forever remembered and dearly missed by her sister, Irene Evans, her niece, Rhonwyn Mathews (Rod) and great nephews, William and Andrew Mathews. Also survived by nieces, Gail, Bonnie, Cathie, Mary and nephews Bill and Fred. Betty was born in Penygraig, Wales on February 12th, 1916. She married Carl in 1945 and immigrated to Canada (Pier 21, Halifax) as a war bride and new Mother in 1946. After making a home in New Liskeard, Betty, resumed and dedicated 30 years to nursing. Once widowed she managed Beach Gardens and frequently could be seen cutting grass on the riding lawn mower well into her 90's. Visitation will be held at Perrin Funeral Home on Friday, April 27th from 7-9 pm. Funeral service may be attended at St. Paul's United Church on Saturday, April 28th at 11 am. The Family gratefully thanks the staff at Temiskaming Lodge, a loving community of caregivers who looked after Mom with the gentlest of hands. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations would be gratefully accepted for World Vision Canada.
