DOUGLAS JAMES WOODROW,
2021
Our father’s hand was held as he quietly passed away in the Kirkland & District Hospital at the age of 56 years after a lengthy battle with cancer. While working at the Mine full-time and raising his children who never went hungry or had snow boots that leaked, he and Mom made sure we never suffered from a lack of activities to entertain and teach us, it meant he had a great work/life balance, with plenty of time for family events, a passion of driving fast cars, snowmobiling, fishing and hunting. We speak for the family when we say we loved our father for being the man he was, and we know he loved us. Still here, with his memory firmly entrenched in our minds are, his companion Kathy Wilson of 5 years, his children Chad (Brandi), Carla (Adam), Dustin (Courtney) whom he adored, his precious grandchildren Brooklyn and Ethan Walsh that will sorely miss him as well as numerous relatives and friends who had a chance to know him as “Woody” are able to cherish the fond memories he has left behind. All of us enjoyed laughing to his every day comical behaviour; he sure knew how to make you smile. Sadly, predeceased by his wife of 33 years Susan Woodrow (née Boucher), his parents Earl and Kathleen Woodrow, his brother Stewart, his sister Sandra, his brother-in-law Al Martin and his mother-in-law Georgette Boucher. The family will welcome friends at the FRENCH FAMILY FUNERAL HOME (111 Burnside Drive, Kirkland Lake, ON., P2N 3L1) on Friday, July 25, 2014 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held from the Chapel of the funeral home on Saturday July 26 2014 at 10:30am with Pastor Peter Panabaker, officiating. A Graveside Service to follow at the Kirkland Lake Cemetery where he will be laid to rest beside his wife. And lastly, a sincere thank you from our family to everyone at the Kirkland Lake Hospital who made his last days as comfortable as possible.Offer Condolence for the family of Douglas James Woodrow
