In loving memory of Douglas Alexander Dunbar who passed away peacefully at Health Sciences North, Sudbury, on November 16th, 2013 after an unsuccessful battle with cancer and surgery complications in his 79th year. He leaves to mourn his passing, his loving wife Patricia, son Ken (Judi), and daughter Kathy (Rob) Faulkner. Very proud and loving grandfather to Amanda Dunbar, Meaghan (Rob) Blohm, Benjamin, Haley and Makayla Faulkner. Also survived by one sister Mary (Ted) Richards and sister-in-law Rita Dunbar. Predeceased by son Sidney, daughter Alice Rose, mother and father Alice and Alex Dunbar, brothers Jim and Jack and sister-in-law Anne. Doug was active in Meals on Wheels, he looked after the sound system for the Legion memorial services, was one of the Community Choir Directors, was the United Church Choir director, track and field coach, part of the male quartet; 4 plus 1, driver for the cancer society, and property manager for the Good Shepherd Church. He taught elementary school for 36 years; 31 of those years were at the Englehart Public School. Doug loved to garden, camp and design and construct many lawn ornaments. He will be sadly missed as a neighbour, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend to many. The family of the late Mr. Doug Dunbar will receive friends at the McDonald Funeral Home, Englehart, Monday, November 18, from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 pm. Funeral Service will be held at Good Shepherd Church on Tuesday, November 19, at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at the Englehart Cemetery.
