It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family announces her passing at the Timmins and District Hospital on Monday, January 29 th at the age of 72 years.
Donna is predeceased by her parents Andrew Burdick and Mary Burdick (nee Komaike) and her father and mother-in-law Keith Giles and Helen Giles (nee Murray). Cherished wife of Dana Giles. Devoted, generous and caring mother of Jason Lehman (Miranda), Adam Lehman (Elaine), Matthew Lehman (Vicki), Brenden Giles (Jen) and Samantha Giles (Dan). Beloved sister of Robert Burdick (Nicole) and Randy Burdick (Lauranne). Proud grandmother who will be dearly missed by her 15 grandchildren Drake, Dalton, Gavin, Alyssa, Erich, Julia, Sarah, Tytan, Skylar, Ethan, Lochlan, Westley, Des, Haylee and Liam. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will miss her dearly.
Born in Montreal, Quebec and raised in Black River Matheson and area. She made many friends throughout her life. She worked many jobs helping others before focusing on her career for many years at the Bingham Memorial Hospital before retiring. She enjoyed spending time at her family cottage on Butler Lake. Her pride and joys were her grandchildren who loved spending their time with Nana and Poppa. She was kind-hearted, generous, caring and had a warm smile. Our dearest mother will be in our hearts forever and always.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses on the 2 nd floor ICU and Medical B at Timmins and District Hospital for their care and compassion during her stay over the last weeks.
As per her wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Timiskaming Funeral Cooperative-Kirkland Lake (Formerly French Family Funeral Home at 111 Burnside Avenue, Kirkland Lake) on Friday, February 2 nd from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Burial will take place in spring.
