Passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at the Kirkland & District Hospital, surrounded by her family, after a two year courageous fight with cancer. Dawn worked for the Kirkland Lake Police Department and the Ontario Provincial Police combined for 25 years. Dawn was predeceased by her father Mervin Clement (1993), her fathers-in-law Mike Harasym (1964) and Bill Karas (2003), her brother-in-law Wasyl Harasym (1977) and her sister-in-law Judy Harasym (2004). Dawn will be sadly missed by her husband Micheal Harasym, her daughter Twyla (Marc) and her son Matthew; her mother Helen Clement; her sisters Sue Clement (Terry, Tom Claude and Rachelle), Cathy Piette (Rob and Shayne), Sandie Surtees (Barry, Megan and Malorie), Cori Stratford (Brian, Jamie and Tara); mother-in-law Nadia Harasym; sisters-in-law Helen Arcand (Arnold, Arnold Jr. and Carrie), Irene Stewart (Roger, Mark and Micheal), Mary McCool (Dan, Erin and Laura); her brother-in-law George Harasym (Myrna, Andrew and Nadia); also 20 great nieces and nephews and one great great nephew. Dawn will also be missed by her family pet, Daisy. A Celebration of Dawn’s life will be held on Monday, February 1, 2010 at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 87 commencing at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the North Eastern Ontario Regional Cancer Centre (41 Ramsey Lake Road, Sudbury, ON., P3E 5J1).Offer Condolence for the family of Donna Harasym

I am so sorry for your loss. I will always remember growing up in Chaput and being an only child and going over to my friend Sandy’s house and seeing all the girls that shared their love and lived together in that house. It was truly amazing to me especially since they had a mom named Helen. May peace find you in this great time of sorrow.

Dawn was a special lady. I am grateful for my time spent with her, times we laughed together and times we laughed so hard we cried. There is an empty place in my heart but I know she is safe in heaven and at peace. My thoughts and prayers are with the Harasym and Clement families at this time.

I am so proud of Dawn for the way she fought this disease. She never gave up hope, and rarely complained. She had so much to live for and will be missed by everyone who knew her. I will always remember Dawn for her quick come backs for all the laughter she brought to us. Harasym and Clement Families We were so sorry to hear of Dawns passing. She sure was a strong lady, she always had a smile for everyone she met. She will be greatly missed.
