CUNNINGHAM, Donna Darlene
Donna Darlene Cunningham died at her home in Savard Township Thursday, November 25, at the age of 54. She was born in Toronto on December 4, 1955, to Peter and Julia Kubis. Educated in Toronto, she moved north from the Hamilton area in 2005. Ms. Cunningham loved working for the Temiskaming Shores Public Library for the past year and the Englehart Public Library before that. She had an incredible capacity for love and compassion which motivated a life of caring and love for everyone. Adopting only “special needs†children, volunteering as an intervenor for severely handicapped children, helping to organize and run fundraisers and baking for any event are only some of the many ways that Ms. Cunningham enjoyed serving her community. She also served as the Savard and Area Local Services Board secretary-treasurer since moving north five years ago. She loved nature and all things natural. She had no time or interest for the superficial and artificial as she was only concerned with the truth. She truly loved life and felt that she had finally accomplished many of her most important goals. Ms. Cunningham was the best mother to her children and prepared them for independent living. Moving to James Bay Frontier country, into a log house in the bush with a wood stove and a 50 by 100 foot vegetable garden were all dreams of hers that came true. The icing on the cake was what she often called “the most perfect job†in the world, helping library patrons. She was always in her element when helping others and her job at the library fulfilled her and she was always very grateful to work there. Ms. Cunningham is survived by her daughter Julie Cunningham; sons Stefan and Michael Cunningham; daughter Lorie Baker (husband Al); grandchildren Franz Neumann, Stefanie Neumann, Gabrielle Neumann and Aiden Baker; husband Cliff Reuer; mother-in-law Rose Gresch; parents Peter and Julia Kubis. She was predeceased by her former husband Don Cunningham. The family of the late Mrs. Donna Cunningham will receive friends at the McDonald Funeral Home, Englehart, Saturday, December 4, from 1 - 2 pm.
