CRAIG, Donna

2017

In loving memory of our mother, Donna Craig who passed away suddenly at the Temiskaming Hospital at the age of 78. She was predeceased by her husband Mervin, parents Owen Tripp and mother Lovedy Tripp, her sisters Merle Ruddy and Norma Tripp and Jean Walker. Also by her Grandson Dawson Jibb. Left to mourn are her brother Gary Tripp (Lyse) and her sister Linda Merrit (Lyle), her children Randy ( Bonny). Jeannie (Greg Porter) Wendy (Jeff Jibb) and Tracey ( Larry Pedersen). Also left to mourn are her grandchildren Alysia, Justin, Cagney, Derek, Colton, Hunter, Ricki, Corey, and Taylor and her 7 great grandchildren, as well as many great friends and nieces and nephews. Donna grew up in Timmins and relocated to New Liskeard as a teen, where she met and married Merv Craig, and had 4 beautiful children. Donna was a quirky soul who enjoyed collecting all sorts of trinkets, which she thought would make her her millions someday. She joined the Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Church many years ago which brought her much enjoyment and peace. She made many great friends there who stuck by her even when she was at the point where she was unable to attend the church. She worked a lot of different jobs in her lifetime but was also happy to stay home and raise her kids, as well as a number of other kids. She would take in boarders frequently and also some of her children’s friends who, for whatever reason, needed a place to stay. She would also take in strays from the street, which sometimes was not such a great idea. But she always had a soft spot for the underdog. She could come off as somewhat abrasive to people, but deep down she had a huge heart and a great sense of humor, and she just wanted to be heard. She was a great cook, seamstress and loved to knit. She also loved Christmas and went over the top when it came to decorating and shopping for every single person in the family. She also always wanted all the family in the same room for the holidays, no matter what! She will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Rest easy now pain free and finally content. A Memorial Service will take place on Monday, March 20, 2017 at 2 p.m. from the Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Church in Haileybury. If desired donations to the Community Cancer Care would be appreciated.
