It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Donalda Harriet Mary Shelp (née Card) at the Guelph General Hospital on Sunday October 6, 2019, at the age of 88 years. She was predeceased by her husband Gerald (1986), children Beverly (1958) and Stanley (1996), and siblings Norman, Ella and Elsie. She is survived by her children (spouse, grandchildren): Barry (Wendy Gibbs, Jennifer & Sydney) of Guelph; Gene (Mei Lin, Gia & Jade) of Guelph; Irene (Walter Rath, Lasha) of Beaumont Alberta, and Lisa (Victor Carpinteiro, Alexa & Jona) of Ottawa.Donalda was born and raised in Brethour, Ontario, just north of New Liskeard. She spent most of her adult life in Kirkland Lake, raising her family and helping to build a successful business called Gerry’s TV and Appliances with her husband. For the past eight years, Donalda resided in Guelph to be closer to her family. She always missed her friends in Kirkland Lake and the various community and volunteer activities (arts & crafts, various choirs, Encore Club, Museum of Northern History and Horticultural Society) in which she had participated over the years.VISITATION:

My Condolence to the Shelp Family for the loss of their lovely Mother. So many memories come to mind of all the joyful times we had as children on Day Ave. I hope this Irish Blessing brings you comfort. God Bless. An Irish Blessing May the roads rise up to meet you. May the wind always be at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face. And the rain fall softly on your fields. And until we meet again. Dear Barry, Gene, Irene, Lisa, and family, Please accept our sincere condolences at the loss of your beloved mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother. I fondly remember your moms gentle laughter and kindness (letting another kid join the living room gang on Sundays to watch Walt Disney in colour, pouring bowls of sugar for us to eat rhubarb come to mind). Each time I left our home on Day Ave I would look up at your house to see if your mom was on the front step and appreciates her smile and wave. May each memory of your mom feel like a small patch of sunlight, warming your days, soothing your heart, giving you hope and peace. Hugs, Glenda (Gavin), Rick, and family
