SHEPHERDSON, Donald
Donald Charles F. Shepherdson On August 12, 2010, Don Shepherdson of New Liskeard died at the Temiskaming Hospital. Born in New Liskeard on June 16, 1932, to Fred and Edith Shepherdson, he was educated at New Liskeard Public and High Schools. He married Ruth Elsie Tucker at St. Paul's United Church on August 6, 1960. Mr. Shepherdson, who lived in New Liskeard all his life, worked as a purchasing agent for Hill Clark Francis, Haileybury Lumber, Pollock Lumber, Northern Pinewoods and Campsall Electric. Mr. Shepherdson was known throughout the community for his association and leadership with the New Liskeard Cubs hockey organization, as a founding member of the Great North Midget League and a founding member of the New Liskeard Golf Club where he also served as president and worked on the construction of the back nine. He was also a member of St. Paul's United Church. Mr. Shepherdson is survived by his wife Ruth; son Steve (wife Stephanie); daughter Susan (partner Steve Polyblank); grandson Collin; sister Emily (husband Bob Kinard); nephew Rob (wife Kristie) and children Austen and Hanna. He was predeceased by his parents Fred in 1962 and Edith in 1990. The funeral is arranged by Perrin Funeral Chapel with visitation at the New Liskeard arena on Friday, August 27, from 10 a.m. to noon and 2-5 p.m. The service will be officiated there by Reverend Micol Cottrell at 8 p.m. Cremation has taken place.
