Rob and D’Andrea family, please accept our sympathies. This summer, I delivered a book to Delores and met her for the very first time. She not only invited me into her home but insisted I sit at her kitchen table to look at family photos and chat like long lost friends. What a wonderful lady.

My thoughts are with you at this sad time. Your mom always had a smile on her face whenever we would run into her. I loved seeing your family in the parade this past summer. That is a great memory for all of you to cherish. Take comfort in knowing your parents are together again and both will always be remembered.

Such a great lady! Paul and I always enjoyed chatting with her when she would visit our neighbours-The McNamaras. She was a character for sure and always so happy. The DAndrea float in the KL 100th parade with her proudly in it was wonderful. Kirkland Lake has lost another great one! The DAndrea family are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Great families start with great parents. How blessed this family was. KL’s loss is Heavens gain. Thinking of you all… george & wendy sadoquis

George Sadoquis, March 1, 2021

I’m so happy to say I knew her well….my first memory of this very special lady was walking into her house and immediately feeling at home and like I’d always been going there…she was the kindest most loving soul I’d ever met. She was just like a second mom ….that’s the highest praise and most close comparison I can come up with. Once you met her you never forgot her…and she never forgot you. I have so many special memories of her that I will hold on to now in me book of treasured memories..I’m heartbroken that she’s gone but so happy that I was able to spend time with this unforetable, talented, fun loving, joyous, caring woman. God speed my precious angel. Dolores you will never be forgotten.

Chris Ackles, March 1, 2021

I will treasure all the memories I had growing up and visiting Kirkland Lake. Aunty Dolores and all the D Andrea family sure know how to have a good time. She has lived a very full life. How can you not having 7 children and numerous nieces and nephews. Setting up the family photo picture with us lining up by age. I remember her always smiling and singing. You were greatly loved and will be missed by many. Another angel has joined heaven. Love you.

Roberta Mendicino Theisen and family, March 1, 2021

I grew up with the DAndrea Family, Mrs. DAndrea was always welcoming, always smiling and joking. So outgoing and vivacious! I remember watching her sing on KFL, and remember the amazing talking ice sculptures outside the house. Lucky enough to be neighbours at the lake too. I always made sure I would go visit every time I returned to KL, and Mrs DAndrea always would remember me and my family, asking about everybody by name. What a treasure she was!!! My condolences to the family

Lil DodotteLauzon Cholewa, March 1, 2021

Dolores what can I say “YOU” were quite a “LADY” and my “FRIEND”. I am speechless but I know you are UP there on the other side and we shall MEET again. We had so many long conversations that we talked about and you knew my wonderful loving PARENTS who I miss very much. I am looking up at the sun at present and I see you smiling back. I will miss you so much! RIP My sincere “Deepest Deepest Deepest Sympathy” to You Robert and the Rest of the D’Andrea Family. Sincerely; Michelle St. Georges

Michelle St. Georges, March 1, 2021

There is so much I could say about this amazing woman, Domenic and family. It’s all been said and more. My thought as I heard of Dolores’ passing…….another wonderful large piece of KL granite gone from our underpinnings. They don’t seem to make them any more. The wonderful fabric of Kirkland Lake. I am sorry for your loss and I delight in the pleasure of having her amongst us. Lynn Murray Elliott. don’t make them like Dolores and Domenic and so many others who wove the fabric of this town.

Lynn Elliott, March 1, 2021

My deepest condolences to Dolores’s family. The highlight of KL’s 100th anniversary for me was stopping by Dolores’s house on behalf of my beloved Aunt Shirley Lefebvre who was unable to attend. That Dolores knew who I was and spoke so lovingly about my aunt, her dear friend, still warms my heart. She was definitely the doyenne of Kirkland Lake and her passing has left a huge void. May her family find comfort in knowing how much she was loved and respected.

Brenda (Brown) Callaghan, March 1, 2021

They say KL is the mile of gold. It’s true.. miles and miles of KL’rs with hearts of gold. That is Delores. I had the pleasure of working with Delore in the world of volunteers. Truly was my honor to be in her company at Holy Name of Jesus Parish. Peace and comfort to Delores family.

My heart broke when I heard we had lost Delores. Im sure she gently slipped into heaven on a wing and a prayer. Thats just the kind of gal she was. She earned that escort. We all knew it was coming, but it hurts none the less. Delores sure loved her people and boy, did she love to laugh, sing and have fun. A great person to play with. She was a kind and caring person; Ready to help where ever she could. These are the things I will remember most about her. A great example for us all. She weathered her storms with strength and dignity always rising above the water line. I feel lucky just to have known her. Delores was a lot of good things to a lot of people. She will be greatly missed. Know that I am thinking of and praying for a gentle healing processing for you all. Lorraine Forcellini Montague

Lorraine Montague, March 1, 2021

I only got to meet you in person once but I will never forget that opportunity. We shared stories of being the mangia cakes amongst all those crazy Italians, all the while knowing we were actually the two nuttiest ones in the room. A beautiful, amazingly spirited woman I am so incredibly grateful to have met. Heaven is a brighter place filled with laughter and song now that you are there. You will be missed more than any of us could ever say. Rest well Aunty Dolores. Encore!!!!

I had the pleasure of working with Dolores for many years at Timiskaming Health Unit. What a fun loving talented lady she was. I most recently had a visit with her at Kirkland Lake Hospital as she had just arrived back from Sudbury. She was so happy to be back in Kirkland Lake and had her usual happy outlook- we giggled and laughed just like the old days! May the love and friendship of friends and family carry her family through this very difficult time! I can hear her singing now!
