Unfortunately I don’t have one specific memory to focus on, simply because I was fortunate enough to have so many memories. I was very lucky to spend many of my childhood summers on the farm; some of the most entertaining memories involve Bryan, myself and Aunt Diane mucking stalls in the barn…..well to be honest, it involved Aunt Diane doing the work and Bryan and I doing our best to get into mischief. It always ultimately resulted in Aunt Diane shooing us away with whatever tool she had in her hand at the time. Aunt Diane always spoiled all of her nieces a wee bit; I remember the year that Cabbage Patch Kids made their debut, Aunt Diane made sure that each of us recieved one of these dolls from her that Christmas. Aunt Diane had a way of making you feel like you were one of her own kids, she never missed a milestone and she always had a warm greeting and a hug ready for me when we visited. One thing that will always stick with me is the sound of her voice and the feeling it gave me when she would greet me with a big “Melly!” and and equally big hug. I will miss and love her forever.
