It is with overwhelming sadness that we announce Dean’s unexpected passing on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at the Kirkland & District Hospital. Dean was a volunteer fireman for many years and was employed with Grants. He also thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors. He was a devoted father to Deanna Layman of Kirkland Lake and Trina Lalonde (Evan Quinn) of Swastika. He also leaves to mourn the mother to his children Cindy Lalonde of Timmins. Forever remembered and sadly missed by his precious grandchildren Aiden and Mackenzie; his parents Caroline and Eric MacMillan; aunt Marion and uncle Jim Hammond who guided him through life; siblings Ronnie, Danny (Patti) and Tracy; sister-in-law Sharon Giguere of Ottawa and brother-in-law Mike (Beth) Giguere of Oakville as well as extended family. Family will welcome friends at the MONETTE & FRENCH FUNERAL HOME (450 Government Road West, Kirkland Lake, ON., P2N 3L1) on Sunday, March 29, 2009 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held from the St.Peter’s On The Rock Anglican Church on Monday, March 30, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with The Rev. Edna Murdy Officiating. Donations in Dean’s Memory may be made to the Northeastern Ontario Regional Cancer Centre (41 Ramsey Lake Road, Sudbury, ON., P3E 5J1).Offer Condolence for the family of Dean Lalonde

My thoughts and prayers go out to Dean’s family at this very difficult time. I was fortunate to have worked with Dean on teh Santa Claus Express Committee. I am happy that we were able to share a drink at the town Christmas party this year. Rest in peace Dean.
