WILSON, Dalton
It is with much regret that we announce the death of Dalton Victor Wilson of Timmins, Ontario, formerly of New Liskeard where he resided with his family and held a pharmacy practice for the greater part of his life. Dalton is survived by his wife and best friend, Jean, his loving children Stan, Jennifer (Leo) Kosowan, Marlene (Al) Bush, Karen (Paul) Toffanello, Shirley (Kevin) Roblin, and Cathy (Rusty) Hopper. Dalt was blessed with sixteen grandchildren: Lauren and Annie Kosowan, Kathryn, Allie and Joseph Bush, Haley (Steve) Levasseur, Heather, Hannah & Noah Toffanello, Matthew (Shannon), Danny (Laurel), Michael and Christopher Roblin, Victor, Wilson and Leila Hopper and three great grandchildren, Eli Levasseur, Jaxcen Roblin and Dahlia Roblin. Dalt was predeceased by his brothers Stanley and Leonard, his sister in law, Marcella, and he is survived by his sister Fay (Stuart) Eckmier. Dalt was born October 11, 1924 in the small community of North Cobalt. He fell in love with Jean Stewart, and shortly after serving a term in the medical corps in the second world war, they married and returned to New Liskeard after an educational sojourn at the University of Toronto and the University of Saskatchewan. Dalt graduated as a pharmacist and opened Wilson's Pharmacy in downtown New Liskeard; shortly thereafter, he purchased and operated Smallman's Pharmacy in Haileybury. Dalt was a man of unmitigated faith and served in many capacities at Our Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. He will be especially remembered for his service in supporting and perpetuating Catholic education in the New Liskeard and surrounding area and in the building of the new English Catholic Central School. He was also instrumental in initiating the Catholic Literacy Fund. Dalt was a highly respected member of his community, and he will be remembered as a very gentle, peaceful man whose convictions and belief in family, friendship and the love of God were clearly evident in his thoughts and actions throughout his life. He leaves behind a legacy of family who continue to carry on in these traditions and practices and who are ever grateful for his excellent example, his guiding hand, and his unwavering and unconditional love. We would like to thank Father John Lemire for his spiritual guidance and assistance, to Dr. Mario Ciccone (Timmins) for his care and attention in Dalt's time of need, to Bob Dodge for his continued support, friendship, and good counsel, and to his close friends and family, Colleen Dodge, Maria and Walter Pape, and the Wilson family from New Liskeard, Trudi and Dave, John and Jan, Jim and Karen, Mike and Laurie and all of their children. In memorium donations to Our Mother of Perpetual Help in New Liskeard would be greatly appreciated. Dalt believed that God has prepared for us a place in His house where there are many rooms. We believe that Dalt is at peace in God's house.
