HAYES, Clayton

1937 - 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Clayton Walter Hayes at the age of 86 at Teck Pioneer Residence in Kirkland Lake.

Clayton was born on September 28, 1937 to Walter James Hayes (deceased), and Vera (Ede) Hayes (deceased). He was raised on the family farm in Dack Township.

Clayton was predeceased by his parents, and his daughter Janice Cook of Kirkland Lake.

Clayton is survived by his son Bruce Hayes of Kirkland Lake, his siblings Ed Hayes of Courtney BC, Glenn Hayes of Englehart, and Joan Palmateer (Bill) of Englehart. Clayton was Grandpa to twin grandchildren Dawson and Amber Cook of Kirkland Lake. He is survived by many nieces and nephews as well.

Clayton was employed by both Kokotos Saw Mill Englehart, and Normicks Lumber in Kenogami. He retired at the age of 65 to take up fishing and visiting with family.

We would like to thank the nurses and staff of Blanche River Health KL site, and the compassionate, caring team at Teck Pioneer Residence where Clayton resided for the past month.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Timiskaming Funeral Cooperatives Kirkland Lake. Cremation has taken place and there will be no service.
