It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Clair James Dickinson, who passed away at Blanche River Health, Kirkland Lake Site at the age of 84. Clair was surrounded by his loving wife, sister and other family members during his final moments.
Clair was born in Kirkland Lake on December 9, 1940. He is survived by his devoted wife of 44 years, Judy (Seniuk). Judy and Clair met in Red Lake, Judy was bartending and Clair walked in, and it was “Love at first sight”, and recently reunited with his daughter, Karen Ann Arney, a reunion that brought him much happiness.
Clair was predeceased by his parents, Catherine and George Dickinson, as well as his sisters, Muriel (Ben) Mattson and Sylvia O’Shaughnessy. He is survived by his sister Florence Vinkle, and his brother Donald Dickinson and his wife Donna. Clair is also survived by his sisters-in-law Jeannette Wozniak, Julie Eccles (husband Lee), Johnna Orum, Joy Bilious and brother Emil Seniuk (wife Tricia) as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, though his was predeceased by his nephew Clare Vinkle.
Clair worked as a miner throughout his life, spending many years in different mining camps. He eventually returned to Kirkland Lake, where he finished his career at the Macassa Mine. He was known for his hard working spirit and dedication to his work.
Clair chose cremation and at his request, there will be no funeral. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Nurse Gabriel St-Cyr for the care and compassion provided to Clair in his final days.
Clair will be missed by all who knew him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
