to Bryce’s family, I had such fun and good times with Bryce as we chatted about our love of books and authors we shared in common, reminiscing about the folks we knew from V-Town and she often shared nuggets of experiences she had while outside of Canada. A couple of weeks ago in the parking lot of the grocery store she asked me if I had accomplished my goal of reading every book in Teck library..I told her I was pretty sure I had only one more since there was that silly limit of the number you were allowed to borrow. She laughed and said “in all the years I have known you I have never walked away from you without smiling.” I am glad I have that memory of Bryce,,, her smile. Ellen

Bryce was my cousin who was more like a sister to me.We texted or talked on the phone every day and I miss her so much already. We always looked forward to her and Eric’s visits to Essex, which she continued after Eric’s passing. She had such an amazing life and I always told her she should write a book about her experiences. We so appreciate Eric’s family and how they were so good to her.She was fiercely independent and very realistic, never wanting to bother anyone or ask for help. The library and the hospital meant so much to her and she proudly took us on tours to both whenever we visited. She is dearly loved by all her family in Essex and will be missed.

Although Bryce is gone from our midst, her legacy remains… Her presence cannot easily be removed from the lives of those who knew her, whether casually or more intimately; she was an unforgettable force that positively touched so many. Even in her darkest hour, she shone brightly. May her presence and memory continue to be a blessing for all her family and friends…

Sincere condolences to Bryce’s family. I met Bryce when we were on the hospital auxiliary board of directors and worked in the gift shop. We became friends and I enjoyed visits with her and Eric immensely. When I visit KLake we always had an evening of chatting and reminiscing. And, of course, the occasional shopping trip to Rouyn! Bryce was an amazing and well respected lady. Always a kind word. She will be greatly missed. She is scouting out the garage sales in heaven with Eric by her side! RIP Bryce
