YOUNG, Brian “Bud”After being a long-time resident of Kirkland Lake, Ontario, Brian passed away in his 87th year on March 17th 2020. He was predeceased, just this past December 2019, by his wife Mirja Young. Brian is survived by his children Ruth (Bill) Clark  Bill and Susan (Gary) Waldron. Also survived by his Stepdaughter Tina and her husband Larry. Grandfather to Dana (Mark), Tannis , Craig (wife to be,  Agatha), Trina (Luc) and Sean (Samantha).  Great -grandfather to Jackson, Jordan, Holly, Jacob, Joey and ShannonBrian had  a beautiful soul. He  was a kindhearted and loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather.He worked at Macassa Gold Mine in Kirkland Lake for 40 years, where he was also a member of the Ontario Mine Rescue Team. Brian is memorialized in the book “Lamps Forever Lit” as a member of the Mine rescue team.Brian loved getting together to play cards and loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, specially at their camp at Swan Lake. He will be greatly missed by those of us that he left behind and will always be in our thoughts and prayers.In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place.Offer Condolence for the family of Brian Young

O eprkef with Broan at MaCassa on 1974 to 1977. He was the Safety Superintendent. He did a great job and taught me a lot. I left Macassa in 1977 to go work in the NWT. I used to remember fondly working with Bud and Al. Fong.

My wife,Ruth (Luoma) Richardson And I would like send our condolences to the families of Mirja and Brian (Bud) Young. Ruth was close friends with Mirja when they went to Kirkland West Public School,as well as to KLCVI, and later was friends with Brian.We were not aware of their passing until sometime ago and we are very sorry we were not aware of it sooner.May they rest in peace.
