MAILLE, Beverley

1937 - 2010

Beverley Ann (Woods) Maille died at the Temiskaming Hospital on April 24, 2010, after a short battle with cancer. She was 73. She was born April 15, 1937, to Lorne and Marjorie Woods and spent all her life in New Liskeard. She met the love of her life, Nova Maille, and married in 1955. They made their winter home on Pine Street and spent the summers at Twin Lakes. Aside from her numerous accomplishments in the community, including volunteering with the New Liskeard Fall Fair and the 2009 IPM, she was a strong supporter of the Bikers Reunion, the Hudson Lakes Association, Camp Wannasew and many projects that benefited the community. Her unfailing love and support of her family is well known to friends and acquaintances. A businesswoman working with her husband while raising her children, Mrs. Maille eventually retired from the Town of New Liskeard where she served as the Social Services Administrator. An avid knitter and sewer, upon her retirement she became an accomplished quilter. Mrs. Maille joined the Temiskaming Treasures Quilting Guild and donated many of her projects to fundraising efforts. She also became known for the lap quilts that she provided to the Daffodil room and sensory quilts for autistic children. Mrs. Maille is survived by her husband Nova Maille; children Bryan (Marisa), Vicki (Brent Chatwin), Margot (Allan Prudhomme), Michael (Maria), Laurie (Mike Hartley), Martin (Doris) and Paula (Andy Ethier); grandchildren Andrea, Nicholas, Ryan, Christopher, Gerry, Michael, Joe, Tammy, Tim, Steven, Sam, Sally, Devan, Drew, Graham, Andrew and Monica; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter Novanna, parents Lorne and Marjorie Woods and brother Bob Woods. A celebration of Mrs. Maille's life was conducted April 27 at Perrin Funeral Chapel in New Liskeard. Her cremated remains will rest with her beloved daughter Novanna after a private ceremony at the Roman Catholic Church. Contributions to the Bikers Reunion or a charity of choice would be gratefully acknowledged by her family.
