MACKINNON, Bernadette “Bernie” – Passed away at Extendicare Nursing Home on January 17, 2008 in her 91st year. Bernie is predeceased by her husband Alec MacKinnon, 6 sisters and 3 brothers. She will be deeply missed by her children Jack (Carman) MacKinnon of Stoney Creek, Fay (James) Britt of Kirkland Lake, Fred MacKinnon (Erin Leffers) of Kirkland Lake and Brenda (Belmont) Lumsden of Kapuskasing as well as her brother Tom Sampson of Kirkland Lake. She was a dear grandmother to Joanna MacKinnon, Bruce (Texia) Newman & family, Linda (Mike) Mayette & family, Jamie (Eileen) Britt of London, Ed (Nathalie) Britt of Sudbury, Bob (Laurie) Britt of North Cobalt, Shane and Brendan Lumsden both of Regina; cherished great grandmother of Pierce, Hillary, Evan, Marcus and Stanley Britt. Bernie also leaves to mourn many nieces, nephews and friends. The MacKinnon family will welcome friends at the MONETTE & FRENCH FUNERAL HOME (450 Government Road West, Kirkland Lake, On., P2N 3L1/ 567-3565) on Monday, January 21, 2008 from 12:00 (noon) to 2:00 p.m. with a funeral service to follow in the “Teck-Hughes” Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Judith Visser Officiating. Donations in Bernie’s memory may be made to Trinity United Church (P.O. Box 512, Kirkland Lake, On., P2N 3J5), Kirkland & District Hospital – Renovate a Room Campaign (P.O. Sorry we are not able to make it up to spend time with everyone. We certainly would be if not for Glad’s operation on Tuesday. Hopefully we will see you in the Spring,,, sending our sincere sympathy ,,, our thoughts are with everyone. Norm, Glad and family.
