FLAHERTY, Barbara
In loving memory of Barbara Anne Flaherty who passed away at the Temiskaming Hospital after a brief battle with cancer on Sunday May 19, 2013 at the age of 68. Barbara was the beloved wife of the late Robert Flaherty. Robert and Barbara were married in Bracebridge in 1963 until Roberts passing in August of 1998. She was the dear partner and best friend of Gaetan Desjardins and a wonderful step-mother to his children Sue (Gilles Rivard), Diane (Jim) Johnston, Gaetanne (Andy) Leblanc, Ron (Bonnie) Desjardins, Larry (Lise) Desjardins his 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Loving sister of Ron (Debbie) Jackson, Rick (Margaret) Jackson, Bill (Brenda) Jackson, Sharon (Don) Webb and Carol (Ross Ingram) Jackson-Ingram. Predeceased by her parents Ann and Raymond Jackson and her brothers Bob, John, Thom, and Steve Jackson. During her career, Barbara was Manager of the Husky Motel, and the Drive-In Theater until its closing. She was also head cashier at the IGA, and an awesome cook at the Temiskaming Hospital until her retirement in 2007. Barb was an avid gardener, an excellent cook, she had a wonderful sense of humour and a heart of gold. Throughout her illness, she always stayed positive and had a great outlook on life. She will always be remembered as a devoted companion, loving step-mother and loyal friend to many who knew her. She will be sadly missed by all. A private family service for the late Barbara Flaherty will be held Rev. Kitty Miller officiating.
