Armand R. Souriol,

ARMAND R. SOURIOL,

2021

SOURIOL, Armand R. – With heavy hearts the family of Armand Souriol announces that he was called home to be reunited with his wife Linda, the love of his life, on Monday, May 15, 2017 at the age of 82 years.Armand was predeceased by his wife Linda (Turyk), son-in-law John Doxsee, his parents Elziar and Anna and stepfather Frank, parents-in-law Walter and Martha Turyk, siblings Grace (Arthur), Art (Pauline), Irene, Rita (Don), Maurice (Ida), Janette (Rolly), Pearl and sister-in-law Dawn as well as sisters-in-law Nancy, Olga and Catherine, brothers-in-law Don and Raymond.Armand is survived by his daughters Christine, Marlene (Duncan) and Michelle (Todd), grandchildren Drew (Kayleigh), Scott, Karleigh, Sarah, Alyssa, Eden, Ellery and great granddaughter Haidyn. Also, left to grieve are his brothers Rene and Albert (Barbara) and brothers-in-law Norman Gilmour, Guy St. Georges and Al Sipprell, sisters-in-law Mary and Anita, and Steve (Rose Ann) and George (Kathy) Turyk, Shirley Dickinson (Dave) and many nieces, nephews and cousins.Armand was a driven hard working businessman. He possessed a good degree of resilience and perseverance and by choice never did retire.  Armand and Linda built the business of Armand Souriol Trucking from the ground up and it has been a success for over 50 years. They also liked to get away to the casino to try their luck at the one armed bandit.Armand was always “the boss” who appeared to be as tough as nails but really was an old softie who would be there in a heartbeat for anyone in need whether it be family, friends, neighbours or employees.  He could always be identified as a true champion. He was a spiritual man and faithful member of Holy Name Parish. The family would like to thank Co-ordinator Betty Smallwood and volunteers Dale Montpetit, Christine Acton, Anne Paquette and Joyce Fecteau of the Timiskaming Hospice Palliative Care who so willingly and kindly gave of their time at a point when we really needed it.  We would like to express our sincere gratitude for your support. We would like to thank Dr. Kurki, Dr. Ek, and Dr. Buttoo for providing excellent care and all of the wonderful nurses on the Fourth floor of KDH for their amazing care of our Dad.As many people know, Armand was an avid hockey fan but the Montreal Canadiens had his heart.Funeral Mass:

My condolences to the family. Armand was a great boss, he gave me a chance to work when I first moved to Kirkland Lake. I enjoyed our talks and the stories he told when he would come for rides in the truck while I was working. I even got use to him calling me Shane instead of shawn. RIP Armand, I’ll miss you stopping by my place to just say hi.

Dale, March 1, 2021

To the family and friends of Armand: Please accept my humble condolences at this time of your loss. Please be comforted by his Love and all the fond memories that will live on in your hearts. Although I did not know him personally, when our paths crossed he always had a friendly smile for me. He was wonderful in the practice of his Catholic faith, which I am sure he passed on to family and friends, especially by example. It is said that Christ is Love personified, and Christ surely dwelt in him by his choice and practices. Eternal rest grant unto Armand, Oh Lord, and may Your perpetual light shine upon him.
