With heavy hearts the family announces the death of Arden James Connors who passed away on the 26th of April at the Temiskaming Hospital at the age of 89 years. Arden will be missed by his wife Joan of 42 years. His daughter Jewel (Stephen) Marshall, Step daughter Patricia (Mario) Loranger, stepson Kevin (Micheline)Martindale, his grandchildren , Peter Larabie Jr., Alana Marshall, Jordan and Bianca Martindale, Anise and Ryan Loranger. He is predeceased by his parents, his brother Harvey and Deena Connors and his stepson Derrick Martindale. He loved sports, both watching and being involved. When he was young he joined the Airborne Division in World War II between 1943 and 1945. When the Korean war started he was a corporal in 1950 to 1951. He said he had his 25th birthday over there. He joined Princess Patricia Canadian Light Infantry known as PPCLI. He had many medals given to him for bravery. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 33 and the Presbyterian Church in New Liskeard. He worked on mainly construction most of his life. When he was young he went to Labrador to build an airport, which he helped maintain for a year. He worked on many jobs; Grants, John Calvart, Pederson’s and Twp. of Harris, where he had to retire due to a heart attack. When he was young, he loved to ride the rails, headed out west for the harvest. He had lots of adventure in him. Visitation will held at The Perrin Funeral Chapel on Wednesday April 29,2015 from 7p.m. to 9p.m. A funeral service will be held at The Perrin Funeral Chapel on Thursday April 30, 2015 at 2p.m. Arden will be buried at the Henwood Rosegrove cemetery.
