Our mother, Annie Seymour, left us on June 1, 2015 in her ninety-fifth year, to be with our father on the celebration of his one-hundredth birthday. She came to Hanbury from Scotland as a young girl of five with her parents Thomas and Agnes Shankland, sisters Susan and Mary and brothers David, William and Gordon. She married our father, Thomas Seymore in Haileybury in 1941 and raised her seven children on the farm just outside of New Liskeard. She was predeceased by our father in 1966 as well as her parents, her siblings and one grandson. She leaves behind her children Glen (Debbie), Norman (Donna), Nancy Tuomi (Jack), Richard (Susan), Jerry, John (Debbie), Brian (Annie), 13 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and her many cousins, nieces, nephews and their children to carry on the legacy brought to Canada by her family and our father's. Our mother had been a member of the Hillview and St. Paul's United Churches, Branch 54 of the Royal Canadian Legion, the New Liskeard Lioness and the Happy Hookers knitting group. She dedicated her whole life to the welfare of her family and she loved to bake cookies and preserve pickles, jams, jellies to share with them. Her favorite social activities were dancing, bowling and bingo. Unfortunately, winning a lottery jackpot to leave to her children always eluded her. A memorial service is being arranged for Thursday June 4 with visitation commencing at 1 pm. The service will be conducted by Kent Fielder at 2 pm. Burial will be along side our father at the New Liskeard Pioneer Cemetery. If desired, donations to the Temiskaming Hospital Foundation or to the Northdale Manor will be greatfully acknowledged.
