The family
My deepest condolences for the loss of Aunt Anita.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Anita Elaine Marie Gibson (née Perreault) at the age of 90. Cherished mother of Virginia Delachevrotiere (Gerald) and Jeanne Hall (Michael). Loving grandmother of Tara Jasmine (Randy), Mitchel (Nina) and Byron (Norah). Beloved great grandmother of Aria, and great step grandmother of Bryanne and Daniella.
Anita was predeceased by her loving husband Archibald Alvin Gibson, by her children; Dwight Silas and Constance Ester, by her parents; Demasse Perreault and Alvina Rose Brouillette, by her siblings; Denise (late Lewis), Leo, Andy, Ronald, Louise, Maurice (Valerie), and Charlie (Linda), by her niece; Melanie and by her friend; Ruby Bisson.
She will be missed by her last surviving sibling; Sally / Salonge (late Ray), by her nieces and nephews; Paul, Peter, Louise, Darren, Rejean, Robert, Mario, Norman and Stephanie.
She will also be missed by her dear friends; Cathy Sale, Helen & Archie Curry; and by her special relations Dean & Sue MacFarlane, John Healy and extended relatives and friends.
As well as being a homemaker and mother, Anita co-owned with Archie, their transportation and garage business, working as manager and bookkeeper, while Archie was on the road. She also held various clerical and retail positions and spent time as a girl guide leader.
Anita was a kind, loving, smart, funny and determined person. She was proud and independent, loved the Blue Jays and watched almost every game. Anita enjoyed sewing, knitting, reading, cooking and baking. She was always trying new recipes for her family and friends and proudly hosted many family gatherings using her treasured china and crystal. Anita loved doing jigsaw puzzles with her children and grandchildren, and preferred Springbok.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Diabetes or Heart and Stroke Society in Anita’s memory would be appreciated. The family wishes to extend their gratitude and thanks to the nurses of D3, ER staff and Paramedics of the North Bay General Hospital.
