Our deepest sympathies to Gary and Bob and their families on the passing of Uncle Ambrose. I remember spending many summers of my youth in Kirkland Lake fishing with my Dad (Bert) and Ambrose. When I was in university, he taught me the finer points of horse racing. After moving away and raising a family, I was able to travel again to Kirkland Lake, with my son Scott, to fish with his grandpa and uncle. The weather did not cooperate and we got soaked. Ambrose gave my son a pair of warm thermal socks and a fishing pole which he still has today. Ambrose and Eleanor always had a little something for our kids at Christmas. Unfortunately, as the years passed, the only times we spoke or saw each other, were when dear ones passed away. Ambrose always had that inimitable smile and a kind word. He will be missed. Ambrose was in our lives when we were young kids. We would see him and Eleanor during family visits in Hamilton many many years ago. He was my dad’s (Kenneth Dans) cousin and we enjoyed his company as kids. Very sorry to hear that Ambrose has passed and my deepest sympathy to our northern family. Lorrie Dans Vassos – London, ON
