POISSON, ALPHONSE AIME (SHORTY) – – peacefully at the Kirkland & District Hospital on Friday, May 25, 2007 in his 89th year. Loving husband of Edna for 63 years. Proud father of three chosen children – Tom MacMillan & his wife Sharon of Ottawa, Ellen MacMillan of Pembroke and Donna Ethier & her husband Robert of Timmins. Loving grandfather of Meagann Blundon & her fiancé Terry McGaghran of Timmins, Gillian Blundon of Timmins and Brittanie MacMillan of Pembroke. Survived by his brother Marcel Poisson & his wife Liz and by his sister Rachelle Headricks. Fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Elphege & Yvonne Poisson, by his brother Walter and his sister Florence Stansell. Al worked in various mines throughout the area during his career including the Adam’s Mine for 20 years. He was a life member of the Steelworkers Union, he loved nature, fishing and the various people he met. Al was well known for his wonderful sense of humour. He will be forever loved and missed by many. Visitation was held at the MONETTE & FRENCH FUNERAL HOME (450 Government Road, Kirkland Lake, 567-3565) on Monday, May 28, 2007 followed by a Funeral Service in the “Teck-Hughes” Chapel of the Funeral Home. Alphonse was laid to rest at the Kirkland Lake Cemetery.
