Alphonse McLean, April 16, 1945 – May 18, 2019: It is with deepfelt sorrow that the McLean family announces the sudden passing of Alphonse at his home on Saturday, May 18, 2019 with his loving family by his side. Alphonse is survived by his loving wife Jacqueline (Jackie) of 20 years, his devoted children Michel, Pierre (Tiffaney) and Mary Ann (Darren) and his cherished grandchildren Alexandra (Brian), Victoria (Mark), Mitchell, Olivia, Christian, Christina, Geneviève, Isabelle and Cassandra. Also left to mourn him are his siblings Armand (Aline), Thérèse (Clément), Yvonne (Sylvio), Rita (George), Roméo (Louiselle), sisters-in-law Theresa, Paulette and Diane, brother-in-law Bernie (Yvonne) and his special aunt Simone. He will also be missed by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Alphonse was predeceased by his parents Gabriel and Yvette (Vezeau) and his brother Rhéal.Alphonse will be remembered for his strong, entrepreneurial work ethic; showing his sons, his daughter and his grandchildren the importance of an honest hard day’s work as the owner/operator of McLean Paving K.L. Ltd. for over 35 years, working with three generations of McLeans. Alphonse enjoyed spending his retirement with his family and friends camping at Culver Park, playing Texas Horseshoes, as well as cards and spending many evenings by the campfire. He also looked forward to the Sutton Bay and Saint-Bruno-de-Guigues annual festivals. He especially enjoyed his vacation to Florida with his brothers and sisters.Alphonse will be remembered by his friends at the Encore Club as a fierce shuffleboard and Ramoli player, as well as a regular on Fish and Chip Fridays.Alphonse will be remembered as a devoted husband, as well as a proud father and generous and loving “Grandpa Al” and “Grand-papa”, always rejoicing in his children’s accomplishments and his grandchildren’s milestones. Alphonse will also be mourned by his ex-wife and mother of their children, Carole Fecteau. The family would like to take the opportunity to kindly thank all of our family and friends, the paramedics, the OPP, Père Stéphane Kazadi Sanga and the French Family Funeral Home staff for all of their support throughout these trying times.VISITATION:

Pierre and McLean family, please accept our sympathies. I recall McLean Paving repaving my driveway in Swastika and Al was there with a rake working side by side with his crew. He was a hard worker and a respected businessman in Kirkland Lake.
