FOLUSEWYCH, Alexandra "Lesia"

1950 - 2023

FOLUSEWYCH, Alexandra “Lesia” (née Cholewinsky) – With deep sadness, we announce Alexandra’s peaceful passing on Ukrainian Christmas, January 7, 2023 surrounded by her loving family at Blanche River Health, Kirkland Lake Site.

Alexandra is survived by her loving life partner, Tom; her sons Andrey (Kelly May) Folusewych and Stephen (Corinne Bouchie) Folusewych; 3 precious grandchildren Kaelen, Kenzie and Ella. She also leaves to mourn her brothers Roman (Mary Lou) Cholewinsky, Terry (Amber) Cholewinsky; her nices and nephews Greg, Cathy, Tommy, Alex and Sara Cholewinsky as well as numerous great nieces and nephews and extended family.

Our Mom enjoyed filling the kitchen with wonderful Ukrainian food, her meat sticks are legendary. After she met Tom, she started cooking Greek food. She was an all star in the kitchen. She loved to share her passion for cooking and baking with her grand daughter, Ella. She also loved to travel, especially to visit and watch Kaelen, and Kenzie play hockey she was a proud Baba to her three beautiful grandchildren. But an even prouder mother to her two sons, Andrey and Stephen. We will miss her cooking, but most of all we will miss her sense of humour, and undying love she had for her family. She also enjoyed playing cards, and the friends she met doing that through the years always had a special place in her heart.

Funeral Service will take place on Friday, February 10, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Timiskaming Funeral Cooperative, French Family Chapel.

Donations in Alexandra’s memory may be made to the Encore Club of Kirkland Lake (5-30 Second Street, East, Kirkland Lake, ON P2N 1R1).

Andrey, Tom, and family

I am very sorry about the passing of Baba. Ella loved her so much, and always had a good time, and lots of laughs when she was with her.
Tom, you loved her so much, and it was nice to see her so happy with you. If love could have saved her, she would still be here with you.
Andrey, you are an amazing son. You did all you could for her, and I know Ella and I could not be prouder of how well you handled everything. She will always be Ella’s Baba, and I will make sure she never forgets how much she was loved by her, and how proud she was to be her Baba.
My deepest condolences to the entire family. She was a small lil Baba, but the loss of her is immense.

To the Family of Lesia FOLUSEWYCH

I knew Lesia when I was 5 years old. She lived next door to me on O'Meara Blvd. in Kirkland Lake. I remember visiting her and watching her eat blueberry perogies...something I was very intrigued by. She was a lovely gal and I am so saddened to hear of her passing. My deepest condolences to the Cholewinsky and Folusewych families.
