Norm knew him all his life and he was our neighbour for 31 years in Wavell. He and Norm worked and travelled to Adam`s mine together. He was a great hunter and fisherman. He was a quiet and patient man with a great sense of humour. The women in Wavell always teased him about finding a good woman, his only requirement was that she could pull a plow. Wavell will never be the same without Bill. Our deepest sympathy to his family.

I worked with Bill at Adams Mine from 1974 until it closed in 1990. Bill was always a conscientious worker. Nothing ever seemed to phase him. He never had a bad thing to say about anyone. Will miss his honk and wave as he would drive by to fetch water from the spring. Condolences to his family.

I have fond memories of woking with Bill in the welding shop at the adams mine, one of his favourite sayings was “no sweat” He never got stressed out or upset, I always admired the way that he patiently went about his work. He would always ask about the Sesekinika guys when I would see him in recent years Please accept our condolences to his family.

Bill and I spent many hours bobbing up and down on lakes fishing for whatever was in season. And if it wasn’t a fishing pole it was boring holes onto the surface of the lakes. Bill showed me how to fish the big lakers and crafted a lure from a work boot steel sole. He called the lure, “Soul Food” and it sure caught a lot of big lakers. The only one I ever used. Not only was he a good fisherman but a great welder. I learned a lot of tricks of the trade from him. You don’t have to cut firewood anymore, Bill. We will meet again. My wife and I send our deepest condolences to the Akulick family. Claude & Francine Gagne
