At the age of 8 years she was transferred to the Ontario School for the Deaf, the residential school where she could get the Special Education better suited to her hearing disability. She attended there through the WW2 years. She eventually left at age 16 in 1944 to go home and help support her family in Kirkland Lake.

Also like to thank KDH palliative care nurses for their care and support. A very special thank you to Tracy Ellerton from Extendicare for the amazing care and support she gave our Mom in the few years she lived there. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to Kirkland Lake Pro Life - P.O. Box 593, Kirkland Lake, or the Baptist Church on Tower Street. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life for family and friends will take place at the Baptist Church at a later date to be announced.
Mom, those special memories of you will always make me smile
If only I could have you back for just a little while
Then we could sit and talk again just like we use to do
You always meant so very much and always will do too
The fact that you are no longer here will always cause me pain
But you are forever in our hearts until we meet again.
See you on the other side Mom xo
