Hi my name is Jackie and I’m Bobs Granddaughter. I am so saddened to here of his passing. He was a great man and he was a hard worker! I only saw him much when I was just a kid 8 or 9 or so. We moved all the way from Brantford to be closer to him. We stayed with him for a short time untill we found a place near by. I have great memories of being at the cottage. We all have so many great memories that we’ll never forget from there. I remember doing alot of fishing down there,I absolutely loved it. Oh how I miss him soo! Robert George Last passed away at the North Bay General Hospital on Saturday, November 29, 2008 at the age of 72 years. Robert served his country with the Royal Canadian Navy for 5 years and was employed with Ontario Hydro for 35 years. His interests included skiing, fishing and small game hunting. Robert was predeceased by his parents George and Marion Last and spouse Nancy (nee West). He is survived by his children Dianne Broad (Alan) and Robert Last Jr. (Linda); grandchildren Jaime Lynn, Joel and Ryan; brother Allan Last (Connie); niece Cindy and nephew Danny. The family will receive friends at the Monette & French Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 2, 2008 from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. with a funeral service to follow in the “Teck – Hughes” Chapel at 1:00 p.m. with The Reverend Bob Weight officiating. Robert will be laid to rest in the Kirkland Lake Cemetery in the spring of 2009. Donations in Robert’s memory may be made to the V.O.N. (30 Second St. E. Kirkland Lake, ON.
