BOLGER, Raymond (1941-2022)
Heaven gained a beautiful Irish soul when Ray Bolger passed peacefully in his home on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at the age of 80.
Ray was a typical Irishman; cantankerous, stubborn, impatient, temperamental, and easily angered. He also had a heart of gold, was generous to a fault, loved his family fiercely, helped anyone who asked, loved the outdoors and loved to tell stories. A typical Bolger.
Ray was known for his incredible work ethic. He worked for many years at Bastien Beverages and finished his career working for the Dymond Township parks department. Ray also refinished and painted cars, worked as a bartender, and loved his position as the Dymond rink manager. His proudest accomplishment was expanding the trail system at Pete’s Dam. In his spare time, he loved to putter around in his shed, creating his one-of-a-kind wooden treasures. He always enjoyed having his growing family around him celebrating any and all of life’s happy moments. This was especially true in the last few years. Ray always had a big smile when anyone came to visit.
Ray was the beloved husband of 58 years to Corinne Bolger (nee Polson) .
Loving father of Derek Bolger (Christine Mayer Bolger), Christine Bolger (Lance Males), Dan Bolger (Robyn Johnson), and Leanne Bolger.
Grampy will be missed by his treasured grandchildren Isabelle Allen (Christopher Allen), Maddie Males (Rick Boily), Annie Males, Olivia Males, Jasmine Mayer (Cal Fraser), Nicholas Bolger, Noah Bolger and Cole Bolger.
He was the proud great-grandfather to Addison, Axel, Avery and Walter.
Ray loved visiting with his surviving sister, Rosemary McLellan (Scott McLellan) and his brother Denis Bolger (Retta Bolger). He will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews.
Ray will be welcomed into heaven with open arms by his parents Bill and Isabel Bolger and his cherished siblings: Theresa and Herbie McDonald, Bill Bolger, Ron and Joan Bolger, Colleen Allen, Doreen and Bing Bastien, Gerry Bolger, Jimmy Bolger and John Bolger.
The family would like to thank everyone who provided comfort and support during this time. We love you.
