Didn’t know your dad Mel, but my Brother used to have coffee with him frequently and worked at the Adams Mine with him…Condolences to you and your Family at this very sad and difficult time.
Mel was one of my long-time best friends. We grew up together in Tarzwell, married girls from Tarzwell, did Statute Labour together, laid the hardwood floor on the Clover Valley dance hall for Jim Staples (Sr), planted trees for L&F (MNR today), worked for Hailibury Lumber sawmill at Watabaeg Lake and got into situations such as bees nests. With Lana and Ruth, we went to Expo 67 and later to Florida. I have lost a piece of me. Goodbye my friend.
Dear Deb and family Sincere sympathy on the death of your brother-in-law, Melvin. We are thinking of you.

Mel was a very handy guy who did a couple of projects for us in our home. When the time came to pay, Mel would simply say How about this much? The price was never excessive. Whether you met Mel in the pool hall or the coffee shop, he was very approachable. He always had a smile and some pleasant conversation. Kirkland Lake has just lost another good one. Goodbye Mel. We bid you Gods speed.
