It is with sadness that the family of Mrs. Marion Duncan announces her peaceful passing at the Kirkland & District Hospital on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at the age of 89 years. Marion was born on August 13, 1920 in Chamberlain Township to the late Frank Kruger and Anna Quast and had resided in Kenogami for the past 58 years. She was also predeceased by her sisters Alma, Hilda, Annie and Cora, in infancy and brothers Harold and Wilfred. Marion is survived by her beloved husband Walter of 63 years and loving children Murray Duncan of Toronto, Glenn (Cécile) Duncan of Brooklin, Sandra (Lee) Matthew of Burleson, TX., Brenda (Gary) Grabowski of Swastika, Joanne (David) Reed of St. Catharines and Kathryn (Kelvin) Davis of Kirkland Lake. She was a devoted grandmother to Lori Matthew, Shaphan Reed, Kendra (Chris) Hartwick, Rebecca Reed, Julia Davis and Carrie Davis and cherished sister to Idella Zoschke of Pembroke. Marion was a devout Christian and a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. When she wasn’t busy caring for others, Marion enjoyed gardening, blueberry picking, crossword puzzles and watching Jeopardy with Walter. The family will welcome relatives and friends at the Monette & French Funeral Home on Saturday, October 31, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. from the “Teck-Hughes” Chapel of the Funeral Home with The Reverend J. Kuhl officiating. Marion will be laid to rest in the Englehart Cemetery. Donations in Marion’s memory may be made to the Kirkland & District Hospital Foundation (P.O. Box 3000 Kirkland Lake, ON. Our sincere sympathies go out to the family. Aunt Marion was a very special lady and I will always remember the good times we had out in Kenogami when I was growing up as well as the get togethers with our families later on and family reunions. She will be missed.
