When I was a teenager I worked the summers at Scarf’s and Neil showed me how to get started in life, fixing machinery and driving trucks. I liked that he was always calm, understanding, making a great teacher. My condolences to the family.

Dear Lorraine and girls. How fitting that the last time I saw Neil he was chopping wood. Typical Neil. We are so sad to hear of his passing. I’m sure he is sitting at a table with my parents and Marg Demers right now playing cards and making everyone smile with his infectious laugh. You are often in our thoughts. My condolences to Lorraine and family and to all the Davreux relatives. Mom (Alice) and I spent some happy hours in Larder Lake as we travelled eastward on a few vacations. Mom enjoyed spending time with relatives, even those a little more distantly related to her. Neil always checked my car before we were to continue on our journey so we knew things would not go wrong after he did his inspection. As we would continue our drive the next day, we always remarked on Neil’s great laugh which we enjoyed. Thank you Neil and Lorraine, for good memories.

To Mrs. Davreau, Bev and Richard and all the Davreau family we extended our deepest sympathies. We never had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Davreau, but it is evident from reading the funeral obituary that he was a wonderful person and much loved by his family and his family was greatly loved by him. May your wonderful memories help to carry you through this difficult time.

A testimony to Neil is the emphasis that he (and Lorraine, of course) placed on strong family values, which garnered the love and admiration of his family. He will be greatly missed not only by his family, but by all who knew him. We are so fortunate to have had his influence on our family and in our lives. We loved his sense of humour. Thank you, Neil. Cousin Cam Davreux and Maili, and sons Ken and Phil.
