JOAN ZAAL,
ZAAL, Joan Carole – It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Joan (née Stapley) Zaal on March 28, 2010 at the Kirkland & District Hospital at the age of 65 years. Born on December 16, 1944 in Toronto, Ontario to the late Gerald Stapley (1989) and to the late Phyllis Cole (1996). Joan was predeceased by her husband Bill Zaal (2003). She is survived by her dearest friend Bob Christie, sadly missed by her brothers and sisters Jack Stapley (Alexa MacKay) of Kirkland Lake, Tom Stapley (Louise Roy – née St-Georges) of Kirkland Lake, Caroline (Mike Emary) of Princeton, Susie (Jack Downers) of Brampton, Lorne (Crystal) of Marmora, Lyn of Marmora, Tim of Marmora, sister-in-law Lucille Stapley of Carleton Place and daughter-in-law Kelly. Joan will also be missed by several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Special friends Brenda, Phil, Gloria, Wendy, Theresa, Laurie and Wayne. Joan will be buried at the Belleville Cemetery at a later date. Special thanks to the staff at the Kirkland & District Hospital, Palliative Care and V.O.N. nurses as well as David Naylor for the many hospital visits.
