BRITT, James – With deep sadness we announce the sudden passing of Jim Britt at the age of 79 in Sudbury, ON on July 23, 2018 with his family by his side. He was predeceased by his grandson Stanley and his sister Marlene James. He is survived by his wife Fay, sons Jamie (Eileen), Ed (Suzanne), Bob (Laurie) and his grandchildren Pierce (Jenny), Hillary (Eric), Evan and Marcus Britt. He was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather. He took pride in his work finally retiring in his 70’s. He valued friendship and his involvement in coaching and playing hockey and ball. He also served his community as a volunteer. Disposition:

Fay.. Sue and I were just saying this is becoming a bad year.. So many great ones passing away or ill.. And Jim was one of the greats.. What a nice guy just knowing him from the campsite at Esker with Sue and Keith and the “Tecks” of course! What a great bunch.. We had so much fun at tournaments.. Greetings from Lahti. Finland, a “Tribute to a Good Man”. To begin with, at the earliest a trip down memory lane we were school mates at Queen Elizabeth School. Anyway, the years drifted by rapidly and Jim appeared in Chaput-Hughes, Ont.. He was a remarkable fine character of tried and true integrity…a very dependable family man. He learned and developed his values from an early age and had the privilege of doing things through life skills support. along the way particular the family links.. You have blessed your family and friends with fun and laughter and given help knowing wrong from right.. I have very fond memories of the crew on the railing at Legion/Irish and Blue Devil games, being coached by Jim with The Franklin Saints, skiing at Culver and Christmas Eves at Aunt Rose and The Cobs’. We are very sorry for your loss and condolences to the whole Britt Clan. He will be missed.

You know Fay, he was definitely a keeper. For the last 35 yrs or so I would connect with you and Jim through my trips to the Centre of the Universe visiting family. As brother Bob would say, Jim was a dandy. I really enjoyed the contact and visiting with Jim. He will certainly be missed. We had many good chats with him at the Bob and Rose BBQs. Always with a couple of cold ones.

Having only recently had the chance to spend some time with extended Britt family members, including Jim and Fay, at Pierce and Jenny’s rehearsal party and wedding, it was so sad to learn about your loss.
