ZIMMERMAN, Jack Joseph

1928 - 2011

In loving memory of Mr. Jack Zimmerman, of Englehart, who passed away at Englehart & District Hospital, on Sunday, March 20, 2011 at the age of 82. Born the youngest child to Anton & Mary (Harty) on July 21, 1928 in Abby, Saskatchewan, where he was raised & attended a one room school house. After school he worked for different ranches and as a Jockie. He moved to Virginiatown in the early 50’s where he joined his brother Adam and worked underground at the Kerr Addison Gold Mine. He met & married the love of his life Denise Cadieux. You can take the boy away from the farm, but you can never take the farm away from the boy. Town life was never Dad’s favourite place to raise a family. Dad bought one farm in the early 60’s and not long after that a second one. Farm life suited dad best. Mom liked the idea. Not long after 1968 Dad left Kerr Addison & joined the Adams Mine in Dane where he remained until he retired. After loosing Jackie March 1, 2010 and mom on April 5, 2010, Dad’s heart was broken. His broken heart never recovered its loss. Jack Zimmerman left us, to join his loved ones. Pre-deceased by his wife Denise Cadieux, youngest daughter Jackie Ball., siblings Henry, Valentine, Adam, John, Elizabeth & 2 infantes. He is survived by 2 daughters Catherine (Eugene) Cozac of New Liskeard, Darlene (Boyd) Mill of Kemptville, sister Rachel Wauro of Weyburn, SK, his grandchildren, James & Crystal Mills of Kemptville, Nicole & Marshall Ball of Englehart & great grandson Domonique Mills of Kemptville. Dad will be sadly missed by family & friends. The family of the late Mr. Jack Joseph Zimmerman will receive friends at the McDonald Funeral Home, Englehart, Tuesday, March 22, from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church on Wednesday, March 23, at 11:00 am. Father Wayne Mills officiating. Spring interment will be at the Harley Twp. Cemetery.
