It is with a heavy heart that the family of Eva Iris Gladys Wurm (nee Roberts) announces that Iris, age 91, passed away, peacefully and surrounded by her family, early Tuesday morning at Kirkland and District Hospital.Iris will be deeply missed by her brother Eric (late Margaret) of Calgary and by her daughters Valerie Connors (Gerald) of Kirkland Lake and Kimberly Fiset (Wayne) of Sault Ste. Marie.Beloved Grams and Grammie of Brandon, Jeremy, Riley and Bethany Connors, and Sophie and Ethan Fiset. Beloved GG to Jillian, Zachary, Charlotte, Mira, Holden, Melissa, Adelyn and Kenton.In keeping with Iris’s wishes, there will be no funeral services. Instead, Iris’s family will be hosting a celebration of her life on Saturday, September 21st, from 2-4 pm at the Encore Club Bingo Room.The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Kirkland and District Hospital for their great care and compassion.Donations:

What a GREAT Person and Lady Iris was…she gave helping hands when Teck Pioneer would have their Tea and Bake Sales every Year, she would never say NO to me….Condolences to the Family on their loss.

I am in shock and saddened over the news. It seems like I was just talking to her over a cup of tea after church. A friend to all who met her, Iris will be greatly missed. The congregation of Trinity United will miss her chocolate chip cookies that she would bring to share. Condolences to her family. She was a great lady and always cheerful and willing to share her time and talents. I greatly admired her determination to walk everywhere and to participate in life to the fullest. She will be missed very much by many.
Val, please accept our sincere sympathy to the loss of your Mom. We had many little chats with her, enjoyed her involvement in a variety of activities & loved her baking. She was always cheerful but it was almost impossible to give her a ride. Iris preferred walking.
To Val, Kim and all of your families. My heart goes out to all of you. Iris was a blessed addition to our neighborhood. We have spent many days and nights chatting about many things. When my Mother passed in 2007, it was like destiny that she moved next to me. Her energy , laughter, advice certainly helped me bare my loss. Our many late nights with fires will be on my list of happy memories. I will watch for you amonsgt the stars my precious little friend. Rest in peace.

Dear Family Members, Please accept my deepest condolences and sympathy for the loss of Iris, a beautiful lady. I have the fondest of memories of Iris, growing up on Essa Place (the circle) in Manitouwadge where Kim was a close childhood friend. Iris was everyones Mom, welcoming us into her home, driving us back and forth to Kindergarten, and letting us explore her lovely garden. I will always be grateful for how comfortable she made me feel in her presence. Iris was a very special lady.

Even at over 90 she was a great participant in Rising Stars, our seniors’ performance group. We admired her determination to walk everywhere and to participate in life to the fullest. We will all miss her very much!
