My deepest condolences to Iris’ family, extended family and community. I had the pleasure of meeting her in 2008 when she helped me find the birth family of a friend/lost soul. She was friendly, caring and kind — she introduced me to people that I still consider friends, and yes, we did find the family that my friend was searching for. The friend and I have since parted ways; however, I believe Iris was placed in my life, to help and guide me and then to introduce me to others and to help him find his long lost family and give him closure and a name. Her kindness will be remembered forever, as I was just a random person from Toronto with a story but no real direction, she helped me connect the dots and was a gentle guide. My visit to Kirkland Lake all those years ago and the people I’ve met while there have left their imprint on my heart and who I am. May you RIP and know you were a God send… Laura Carson (Toronto)

My deepest condolences to Lori and family. I am deeply saddened to hear of Iris’s passing. I was truly blessed to be welcomed into her life and home by both Lori and Iris. Even though we were separated by many miles I thought of her often. We met when I was researching my family history and she was instrumental in helping me on my journey. Iris was an amazing women and I will miss her and that twinkle she always had in her eye dearly.
