In loving memory of Mrs. Hazel Janet Pratt who went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at the Englehart & District Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Englehart on May 29, 1931 to John and Jane Black, the 7th of 8 children, Hazel went on to work at the Farmer`s Store at the age of 16, followed by employment at the Eaton`s order office until her marriage to Vernon Pratt in 1957. She was predeceased by her parents and six siblings; Winifred (Norman) Fergusson; Merlin (Jean); Elgin; Lillian (Ernie) Demerall; Wallace (Betty); and Milford Black. Hazel is survived by Vernon, her husband of 60 years; her younger sister Eva (Elmer) Field; sister-in-law Ruth Black and Harvey and Iris Pratt and Dave and Ada Parton. Hazel was the much loved and faithful mother of Kevin (Frances); Janice (Larry) Montean; Glenn (Cheryl); Ivan (Maria); Helen (James) Brown and Naomi (Joel) Joyce. She was the proud grandmother of 15 grandchildren, Jason and Michael (Janet) Pratt; Philip (Josie) and Scott (Jennifer) Montean and Karen (Andrew) Giraldi; Jonathan (Courtenay) and Darren (Elizabeth) Pratt; Nathan, Joshua (Althea) and Jordan (Meaghan) Pratt; Karyssa Brown and Kelsey, Brenna, Aydan and Emily Joyce. Hazel was ecstatic upon the arrival of her 13 great grandchildren; Rodney and Merritt Pratt; Maia, Tori, Carson, Carter, Zoey and Logan Montean; Gabriel and Micah Giraldi and Surraya, Athena and Troy Pratt. The family of the late Mrs. Hazel Pratt will receive friends at the McDonald Funeral Home, Englehart, Friday, September 29, from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 pm and Saturday September 30, 2017 at the Good Shepherd Church, Englehart Ontario at 9:45 - 10:45 am with the Funeral Service following at 11:00am. Interment following at the Charlton Cemetery. In memory contributions to the Englehart Hospital Palliative Care Unit or Gospel Trust Canada will be greatly appreciated.
