In loving memory of Mrs. Frances Swanson (nee Staples), a long time resident of Tarzwell who passed away peacefully at Kirkland & District Hospital, on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at the age of 88. Pre-deceased by her husband Gordon Swanson, grandson Frank Swanson, son-in-law Mike Petrunewich, sister Georgina Beaven and twin brothers Jim and Gerry Staples. Known as Nan to many she is survived by her beloved children Mary Ellen Petrunewich (Mike), Norman (Debbie) Swanson, Thomas (Maggie) Swanson, Mike (Susan) Swanson, Laura Blackburn (Trevor). Forever missed by her grandchildren Mary Ann (Jason), Sara Grace (Mike), April (Marco), Kelly (Floyd), Gordon (Rhea), Lacey (Jonathan), Erin (Joel), Patrick (Lisa), Meta (Rob), Chelsea (Paul), Karsten (Emma), Daniel (Chantal), Ben (Amanda), Kayla (Wade), Tayler (Alex); her great grandchildren Nathan, Warren, Thomas James, Ethan, Kara, Mikhaila, Niya, Micah, Niel, Gabe, Aleisha, Josh, Katia, Jayden, Abby, Odin, Haleigh, Wyatt and her brother Dan Staples Kelowna B.C. Frances had a gift for making everyone around her feel special. She was involved in many activities over the years including Cub leader, neighborhood watch, school bus driver, hospital auxiliary member, gardening and school volunteer. Her home was always full - of people, of laughter, and of food. Her home was always open to anyone at any time. She was an outstanding cook and was well-known for her ability to feed a crowd. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy. They, in turn, were proud to call her Nan. A Funeral Service will be held at McDonald Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at 2:00 pm. Pastor Steve Crosby officiating. In memory contributions to the local breakfast school programs at District School Board Ontario North East and Northeastern Catholic District School Board or CJKL FM's local Christmas Wish Fund will be greatly appreciated.
