Esther Boone (Lowe)December 22, 1931 – September 13, 2011Mrs. Esther Boone passed away at her residence on September 13, 2011 at the age of 79 years. Esther was born in Kirkland Lake and was predeceased by her paternal grandparents Frank and Jemima (Bates) Lowe, maternal grandparents William and Georgia Schaffner, parents Kenneth and Georgia (Schaffner) Lowe, husband Carl (Buddy) Boone, inherited and loved daughter Wanda Valliere (Boone) and her beloved pet Phantom. She had a long career as a Registered Nurse working many years at the K.D.H. until retiring in approx. 1988. After retiring Esther was a volunteer with the Museum Auxiliary at the Museum of Northern History and was a member of the Encore Club and Ontario Nurses Association. Esther cared and supported many neighbours and friends over the last few years of her retirement and will be missed. Left to remember all her love, kindness and those beautiful cards we always received for all occasions are her sister Elda Osborne and family Rebecca Baird, Kenny Baird and Kris (Douglas) Sharpe and great-nephews Austin and Cameron. Esther’s inherited children Sharon (Denis) Noel, Dan Boone, Rod (Linda) Boone, Rick (Sandra) Boone and son in law Willy Valliere; grandchildren Darren Davis, Steve Davis (Nan’s Mr. Fix It & shopping companion over the last few years), David Boone, Tasha (Josh) Boone, Carl George (Crystal) Boone and Bryan, Angie (Chris) Nikkel, Danielle (Jay) Valliere, Kim Valliere, Bobbi-Ann (Francis) Boone, Mallory Boone, Shelly (Jason) Mills, Kevin (Cassie) Boone, Shawna (Paul) Oad; her treasured great grandchildren Darren’s Brandon, Kristen & Cole, Shawna’s Mya, Tasha’s Jayden & Nyla, Carl George’s Stephan, Shelly’s Carter & Ava and Angie’s Caleigh. (Hey great gramma! It is me Bobbi-Ann’s baby girl. I just arrived and I’m doing fine). Esther was also survived by her sister in law Ann McLean, brother in law Bob (Joyce) Cannon, cousin and card partner Doug Bates as well as extended family Richard (Jackie), Phil, Gerry (Holly) and Madison Cannon. Esther (Mom) your love and kindness will never be forgotten for taking us all under your wing. Your kids, grandkids and great grandkids will always remember you. You will be missed and forever loved. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 19, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Museum of Northern History.
