It is with sadness that the family announces the death of Ernie Mason, which occurred on February 22, 2013 at the Timmins & District Hospital. Ernie was predeceased by his loving and devoted wife of 59 years, Eileen Rathwell; his parents, one brother, one sister; his father and mother-in-law John and Hattie Rathwell; his sister-in-law Marjorie and her husband Dr. David Wigston. Ernie is survived by his daughter Jane and her husband Mike Lavoie; his grandchildren Janis Donovan (Steve), Shawn Lavoie (Amy) and Sara Cazemier (Mike). Also left to remember their “BoBo” are his great grandchildren Emma, Cody, Owen, Vayda, Caleb, Evelyn and Spencer. Dearly remembered by his sister Lillian Hamilton, his favorite nieces Jaye Ann Wigston (Larry McLean) and Marlene Levene (Thom). The family wish to thank Dr. David Bronson for the outstanding care and kindness he provided, Dr. Auger, as well as the entire staff of Timmins & District Hospital. A special thanks to everyone at Le Chateau Georgian Retirement Residence especially Marielle Storey. Also thank you to Dr. Robinson and Dr. Want of the Sudbury Regional Cancer Centre. The family will welcome friends and family at the FRENCH FAMILY FUNERAL HOME (111 Burnside Drive, Kirkland Lake, ON, P2N 3L1) on Tuesday, February 26th, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. from the French Family Funeral Home Chapel.
