I met Eleanor over thirty years ago, while working at Kirkland Lake Day Care Center. Eleanor took her work very seriously. She was a wonderful cook and kept a spotless kitchen. I have fond memories of Eleanor’s kindness and sense of humour. She introduced us to her British customs by making Ann and I birthday cakes with a key to honour our 21st birthdays. With sincere condolences to the Hanlon Family, Irene Turner

I first met Eleanor about 25-30 years ago. Eleanor and her husband were good friends with my grandparents (Evelyn & Henry Kelly). While I was in highschool I had my co-op placement at the Kirkland Lake Daycare, and I remember many hours listening to Eleanor’s stories in the kitchen. It was the only time in my life that I was eager to volunteer to do dishes! The last time I ran into Eleanor it was in the grocery store, we stood right there and chatted for at least twenty minutes. She was a very sweet lady, and I will always remember her!

I was privileged enough to be touched by your mother during our time together at the Kirkland Lake Daycare centre. I enjoyed listening to her stories of her times in England. I enjoyed playing cards with her at lunch time along with Vickie and Colleen. She taught me many things, along with how to pull a good prank by pulling many on me herself. She was an amazing women that I cared deeply for. I will miss her very much. p.s. Eleanor I will have your Tuna fish sandwiches at my wedding. Claudette Savarie-Karr

My thoughts are with you at this time of loss. Eleanor was an amazing lady and I remember her fondly. She was my crossing guard in public school and she made sure we were safe crossing that busy highway. When I grew up and had a child, I remember his first day at the Kirkland Lake Day Care Centre. Eleanor scooped him up and calmed his fears and my anxiety at leaving him there. I knew he was in very good hands. He loved attending Day Care and especially loved Eleanor. God Bless You.
